Spencer Harris’ art delves into the themes of subconscious archiving through collective identity. Through his paintings, Harris explores how memories are retained or lost over time, reconstructing a chronology of the self. Drawing from his experiences growing up in the American South, Harris draws from cultural iconography and consumer culture to create a conglomerate of meaning, illuminating their impact on our lives.

Spencer Harris is a painter based in Queens, NY. He earned his MFA at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY (2020) and his BFA from Texas State University in San Marcos, TX (2016).

Harris has exhibited his work at Public Notice in Los Angeles, CA (2022); Galerie Silk in Lyon, France (2022); L21 Gallery in Mallorca, Spain (2021); Baby Blue Gallery in Chicago, IL (2019); and elsewhere.
