About the artist:
“The picture plane is where you play the dance of subject and object,” says Kitty Rice, whose paintings explore themes of feminine strength as seen through a child’s eyes. Through the use of watercolor and gouache washes, Rice makes artworks drawn from memories both blurry and hyperreal. With an intuitive and ethereal touch, Rice focuses on finding a confluence of light and intimacy in her work.
Kitty Rice was born in 1991 and lives in South London, UK. She graduated from the University of the Arts London in London, UK (2015) and completed the post-graduate program at the Royal Drawing School in London, UK (2022).
