These artworks by self-taught, multidisciplinary artist AP Shrewsbury marry two- and three-dimensional forms of drawing. The drawings on the surface are semi-autobiographical, expressing the artist’s varied interests, while the ceramic vessels touch upon themes of mortality and the fragile nature of the medium. Best known as a tattooist, Shrewsbury turned his focus on ceramics in 2016. The surface decorations of his work often pay homage to the lineage of tattooing as well as the ancient history of his medium.
