Dylan Rose Rheingold
In her painting practice, Dylan Rose Rheingold explores the effects and experiences of contemporary American “girl culture” through visual symbols of her adolescence, femininity, and a heterogeneous cultural background. By representing these elements in unexpected configurations, she creates a non-linear narrative through her oeuvre, which she populates with representations of her family, friends, and herself. Her coming-of-age stories highlight humble difficulties like braces, birth control, heavy periods, and stretch marks through the exploration of everyday emotions and quotidian spaces.
