Teapot (3)
Rower’s work explores the mythic, hidden lineage embedded in household objects. This whimsical form draws inspiration from an antique French teapot discovered at a Paris flea market. By using the found object as a starting point, Isabel reimagines and sculpts its shape, infusing it with a bold, newfound expression.
Isabel Rower (b. 1998, New York) studied Furniture Design at RISD, Providence, RI. She lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. Working primarily with pigmented clay, Rower’s practice blurs conventional boundaries between functionality and adornment. The work swings from sculptural and formalist to whimsical and pragmatic.
