“I’d always been very envious of painters and the liberty they have creating anything,” said Floria González to Artnet.com about returning to the medium. After signing a contract with Universal Music to make “very pop, very ‘90s music,” in her youth, she founded the renowned Floto Studio to create music videos, documentaries, and stage sets for Mexico City musicians. Since returning to her first love, she’s been using paint to reconstruct her identity within a brightly-hued fantasy universe.
