About the artist:

Chris Santa Maria (b. 1982) is a visual artist living and working in Brooklyn, NY. His studio practice stems from two primary concerns: geopolitics and the harmonious connections between nature and culture. He has been exhibited widely in the U.S.; in New York City at Jim Kempner Fine Art, SPRING/BREAK Art Show, Momenta Art, in Arizona at the Phoenix Art Museum, Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, eye lounge contemporary art space, and in California at Pence Gallery (University of California, Davis). His work is in prominent collections including that of Beth Rudin DeWoody, Beverly McIver, and Stephen Dull. Santa Maria received his BFA in Painting from Arizona State University in 2006 and was invited to the prestigious Yaddo Artist Residency the following year. He has served as the Director of Gemini G.E.L. at Joni Weyl gallery in New York City since 2008.
