Megan Dominescu was born in the Netherlands to Romanian and American parents, grew up in Washington, D.C., and eventually moved to Bucharest, Romania, a clashing background that’s been a strong inspiration in her practice. Using humor as a weapon, Megan focuses on observing and documenting the absurd, shedding light on cultural contrasts, and celebrating the bizarre. Aside from making her art, Dominescu is a founding member of the multidisciplinary art space Moxa20 in Bucharest and is one-half of the DJ duo Miss Clitoral. Dominescu’s works are in public collections such as The Romanian National Contemporary Art Museum, Bucharest, The Museum of Recent Art, Bucharest, ING Tech, The Santozeum Museum, Santorini, and many other private collections.
