Sunny NY was founded in 2021 by Russell Tyler and Hadley Vogel. The gallery is located in New York’s East Village, a district that has fostered historic artist-run galleries. Russell Tyler is a painter living and working in Brooklyn, New York. He received an MFA from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn and a BFA from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. His work has been reviewed or featured in "Artforum," "Hyperallergic," "Modern Painters," "T: The New York Times Style Magazine," "NY Arts Magazine," "The Brooklyn Rail" and "Le Monde." Hadley Vogel is a curator and bookbinder based in the NY area. Vogel co-founded East Hampton Shed in 2012 with Nate Hitchcock, and East Hampton Tow in 2020 with Abby Lloyd. Vogel is the owner of Hadley Hill Bindery, specializing in artist books.
