Established in 2013, Massif Central is a New York-based company producing silk and silk-blend scarves by contemporary artists. Interested in the trajectory of traditional French silk scarf-making, Massif Central is named after the region in France from which the art form originated. The scarves we offer here are both classic and modern sizes and feature hand-sewn hems. Working with a diverse group of artists, each devoted to pursuing their unique visions, Massif Central creates a dynamic and distinct collection of high-end silk artworks. We produce each artist’s design in editions of 50, 100, 150, or 500, with every scarf bearing hand-numbered labels. Over the past decade, our vision has continued to mature out of an interest in blurring the lines between modern design, timeless fashion, and contemporary art.
