About:
LADIES’ ROOM was created in 2018 in Los Angeles, CA, to challenge gender inequities in the contemporary art world by providing an exhibition program for women and non-binary artists. The gallery exhibits works by artists from many cultures and creative disciplines, each carefully selected for their conceptual framework, quality of execution, and thoughtful dedication to creative practice. LADIES’ ROOM was founded by independent curator and art consultant Annie Wharton, who has placed artworks in many private, public, and institutional collections that include the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, NY; the Museo Jumex, Mexico City, Mexico; the Hammer Museum, LACMA, and MOCA, Los Angeles, CA; the Sarasota Art Museum, Sarasota, FL; the 21c Museum, Louisville, KY; and the Muse d’Art Moderne et Contemporain, Nice, France. LADIES’ ROOM also organizes GARDEN, an annual exhibition of 100+ artists that benefits the food insecure.
