Pastor on a House Call
This painting depicts a pastor in an all-brown pants suit with matching shoes and bag. The figure sits on a porch outside on a house call, intently in conversation with another man in a yellow hat that matches both his shirt and the car in the background. The second figure is also wearing gold rings with a matching chain, bracelets and earrings; behind him sits a dog's red water bowl that matches the man's shoes as well as both chairs.
The artist draws his narrative scenes and characters from both his imagination and from real-world observation—including television and the internet. Tessier created this work in his signature style by applying casein paint directly to a primed metal sheet. The result is a low-luster sheen that highlights every brushstroke.

Yves Tessier creates narrative images through his use of casein paint applied to aluminum and wood. For every scene, he draws from both his imagination and real-world observation, including what he sees on television and the internet. Tessier’s compositions are sometimes sensual and humorously erotic, while others are meditative and serene.
BIO:
Yves Tessier was born in 1955 in Canada. He maintains studios in both Montreal, Quebec and New York City.
