Lamp & Mirror
This painting depicts a stylized table lamp sitting on top of a shelf with a wooden base. The image is repeated in a different color as if reflected by a mirror. The overall effect is of two separate lamps positioned back to back against a dark background. The artist draws his narrative scenes and characters from both his imagination and from real-world observation—including television and the internet. Tessier created this work in his signature style by applying casein paint directly to a primed metal sheet. The result is a beautiful low-luster sheen that highlights every brushstroke.
