A Schoolhouse in Daylight
In this cartoon-like acrylic, oil, and oil-stick painting, the artist uses broad gestures on paper to create the structure of a schoolhouse. By cleverly using a minimal color palette, he explores many of the boundaries between abstraction and figuration.
Known for his multidisciplinary practice, Taylor Anton White explores abstraction, tone, content, and mark-making in his art while challenging the viewer to identify his unconventional materials and art-making methods.

③ Artist:
Taylor Anton White’s art consistently defies categorization. The artist juxtaposes text, found objects, and images of houses, cars, landscapes, and inanimate objects—often all within a single artwork. He utilizes a vast spectrum of media in his practice, ranging from spiral bindings, spray paint, airbrush, plasticized textiles, and charcoal, which lends a three-dimensionality to this work. Known for a multidisciplinary art practice used to explore abstraction, tone, content and mark-making, White challenges the viewer to identify his radically unconventional materials and art-making methods.
