Ibrahim Abusitta

For his ongoing body of work titled A Past Life That Exists For Nostalgia, Ibrahim Abusitta uses found photography as the primary source for his paintings. Abusitta utilizes color and texture within his artworks to elicit a sense of timelessness. He hopes to connect sentimentality with the viewer through scenes of gatherings at places like bars, casinos, arcades, pool halls, and music venues.

Ibrahim Abusitta was born in 1986 and resides in Toronto, Canada. He earned his BFA in Photography from Ontario College of Art and Design University in Toronto, Canada (2013).

Abusitta has mounted a solo exhibition at Smoke the Moon in Santa Fe, NM (2021).

He has also participated in multiple group exhibitions, including Surface Temperature at Patel Brown in Toronto, Canada (2023); Exiles From The Future at Pumice Raft in Toronto, Canada (2022); and Flower Shop at Smoke the Moon in Santa Fe, NM (2022).
