Green Keep
This rhythmic, pastoral painting is based on the delineated croplands of rural Pennsylvania—where the artist was raised on a horse farm. Alan Prazniak spent his formative years among the idyllic landscapes of the Delaware Water Gap. The artist's elemental work plays with opposing forces, such as pressure, balance, harmony and tension. Prazniak paints plein air, or directly from observation outside the studio. Prazniak paints carefully, allowing for both growth and a sense of immediacy in his compositions.
