Lucy Mullican’s works are rooted in the natural world, including the land, water and sky, and often take islands as their subject. The artist creates in a wide range of media, including drawings made with natural homemade and artisanal pigments, as well as paintings made with mineral watercolors applied directly onto wood panels. Mullican’s work explores the personality of objects and our fleeting relationship to them.
